This work by the German artist Hans Christiansen (1866-1945) is a beautiful and exquisitely sensitive image of mother and daughter. Made in 1940, this is a late work towards the end of the life of one of the foremost figures of the Art Noveau style both in Germany (Jugendstil) and in France. Though this particular work dates from outside the designated years that encompass Art Nouveau, the artist’s deep affinity to this movement and to Jugendstil, its equivalent in Germany, is completely evident and he has also produced a memorable image in the style of the romantic stream of Symbolism.
This picture is not framed and can easily be delivered within the UK, to Europe, the USA, and to many International Destinations, by fully insured post.
