With original drypoint intaglio etchings by Paul-Emile Bécat, plus an extra suite of all the 16 drypoints en noir, and one extra drypoint ‘planche inédite’. These are sumptuous illustrations by Bécat, some of his finest work, making this a beautiful volume. The general presentation and exquisite printing are up to the same standard of excellence.

The interior is in excellent condition with the drypoint illustrations perfect. The textured and decorated slip case is completely intact with only slight indications of wear.

The edition was limited to 650, with numbers 71 to 170 on Rives with the extra suite of drypoints of which this is number 157.
