Very slight time toning to white borders. Image area is excellent.

A fine pochoir image in very good condition by George Barbier of the great Ballets Russes ballerina Tamara Karsavina dancing with Vaslav Nijinsky in ‘Daphnis and Chloe’. The ballet was first performed in Paris, at the Théâtre du Châtelet in 1912. Music by Ravel and the story adapted by Michel Fokine from the romantic pastoral tale by the Greek writer Longus, probably written in the 2nd Century AD. The theme is the love between Daphnis, a goatherd, and Chloé, a shepherdess.
