“In the dead of a Danish winter I painted this from the window of a warm little house similar to the one in the picture. I rented it with a Danish artist. It was an enchanted time in the far north of Denmark, a beautiful winter in a magic land and we worked from morning till night. Many Danish artists have worked and lived in that area, near Skalling.”
