Photogravure in sepia on wove (C 1892), made by Messrs Walker & Boutall and published in Burne-Jones’s lifetime.
Sheet size: 29cm X 20.5cm (approx.) Plate size: 26.5cm X 14cm (approx.). Image size: 26cm X 11.5cm (approx.).
The photogravure method was one of intaglio printing that was very popular at this period. It adds its own distinct and very attractive character to a photographed image. The original photograph for this was by H. Dixson.
